Pippa Funnell to launch Easton College’s £4.75m equestrian centre
One of Britain’s top horsewomen, Pippa Funnell, is to officially unveil a new £4.75m equestrian centre at Easton College later this month.
She will join Sir Nicholas Bacon, Easton College Patron, for the launch on October 24 before taking part in an equestrian exhibition for invited guests at the new site.
Coming less than six weeks after the formal opening of its £3.2m indoor tennis complex, it will be another major feather in the cap of the college, a TMS client.
Best known for its agricultural and horticultural training, the college is rapidly developing a reputation across the sporting scene.
The new equestrian centre will enhance that with its Olympic-sized riding arena and viewing gallery to support the education of around 150 equestrian students and allow the staging of major events there.
For more than 460 students on animal welfare courses, there will be a new teaching centre with veterinary treatment areas, animal physiotherapy and specialised classrooms.
The complex includes American barn stabling for 32 horses, an outdoor riding area and new teaching rooms to replace those at the nearby Norfolk Showground.
