New MD to oversee continued growth at CLSWednesday 23rd November 2011
Scott McMillan has been appointed managing director of CLS Offshore, the energy sector service company he joined at the start of the year.
CLS has seen rapid growth over the last few years and his promotion is described by the Great Yarmouth-based company as part of its strategic growth plan.
He brings to the role a 25-year background in the oil and gas manufacturing and services sector. Before joining CLS, he was Eastern Hemisphere general manager for Shaw Pipeline Services and also general manager for Shaw Inspection.
CLS finance director Sid Anverali said they were delighted to appoint Scott following his success with the Shaw businesses, delivering year-on-year growth with sustainable revenue streams of more than £50m a year.
"He is a driven individual who brings his leadership, management and operating knowledge to CLS. It promises to be an exciting and developing future."
Scott, who started his apprenticeship in Great Yarmouth with Turmeric Ltd, said: "I recognise the potential and growth opportunities for CLS and look forward with enthusiasm to the challenges ahead."
He held several senior positions within the industry before joining Shaw eight years ago. He moved to CLS as a senior project manager early this year and was promoted to managing director last week, replacing Steve Johnson who has left the company to pursue other interests.
