A team from accountants and business advisers PKF is celebrating its talent and versatility after winning the first ever Arnolds Sports Challenge which raised more than £2,500 for the Big C charity.
TMS client PKF finished second in a nail-biting final leg of the eight-discipline challenge to snatch the last gasp victory on points.
“We didn’t need to be accountants to work out that we had won after taking second place in the general knowledge quiz, the culmination of the event,” said PKF senior manager Matthew Humphrey.
“It was a close thing and thrilling to come from behind to win at the last hurdle, but our team showed its many skills throughout.”
Twelve teams took part in the challenge, set up by Arnolds Chartered Surveyors to create a networking and charity fund-raising opportunity for professionals from around Norwich.
They competed in a series of events which, as well as the quiz, involved five-a-side football, netball, ten-pin bowling, canoeing, rounders, volleyball and pool.
The PKF team, drawn from its Norwich and Great Yarmouth offices, featured Jade Barrowman, Kerri Phillips, Gordon Secker, Robert Sparkes, Jack Minns, Matthew Humphrey, Heidi Humphrey, Andrew Mason, Alex Chaney, Matt Herring, Sarah Fisher, Melissa Rouse, Brian Johnson and Aaron Beck.
